FAS109 Accounting for Uncertain Tax Positions

On July 14, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) issued their Proposed Interpretation of FASB Statement No. 109, Accounting for Uncertain Tax Positions. Their Proposed Interpretation seeks to reduce the significant diversity in practice associated with financial statement recognition and measurement in accounting for income taxes. On November 22, FASB began redeliberations by addressing comments received on the Proposed Interpretation. Although the original effective date has been deferred, participants in the webcast will walk away with a better understanding of the direction of the Proposed Interpretation and how their own financial statements may be affected.
