COBRA for Beginners

COBRA requires most employers to offer continuation health coverage to employees, spouses, and dependent children when coverage is lost upon termination of employment and certain other events, which seems easy enoughbut this COBRAs venom is in the details. The number of employers that are incurring penalties and having to fend off lawsuits because of failure to get the COBRA details right is on the rise. Even experienced COBRA administrators can have difficulty with the details, and the newcomer to COBRA administration can feel overwhelmed.
